Blow Out

How many watts are needed to not blow out my speakers if I have a 10" subwoofer?

I just recently purchased a 10" Kicker Subwoofer for my car thats 300 watts. My stock speakers are not that powerful and I need to replace them. How powerful must the new spkeakers that I will purchase be to not blow out? What kind of amp is good for a 10" sub?
Thanks

speakers blow because the elec. magnetic coils overheat and fail. it can happen not only from too much power, but more commonly from distortion. If you gently push on the cone and it glides smoothly, u should be OK. If it feels like sandpaper rubbing, the speaker is blown.
Try finding a good 3 channel amp that'll run your sub and replacement speakers. Most 3-channel amps nowadays have crossovers built-in that'll allow you to run bass through the single channel and stereo through the other 2.
After you find a good amp, then you can find a good pair of replacements with your power limits of your amp in mind.
