Center Channel
Why does my center channel keep going out on my home theater system?
It's a few years old, a Sony. Whenever I watch a movie, after a few minutes of the system being on, what sounds like a surge goes through the system, almost like it sounds like it was turned off. Then the center channel goes out. It's not 5.1 though, so I may just need to upgrade.
If you can, and you use it, check the speaker wire connection in the back of the speaker and into the amp. Make sure they're secure. Loose connections often cause a 'crack' and the sound will definitely cut out, or 'clip.'
If that's not the case, I'd have to see your setup. I don't agree that it's because of it not being 5.1. You can also try different sound setups (all mono, 2.1, etc.)
I, preferably, don't like the setups that do just voice throught the center. It doesn't project into the mix as well as having voice on all speakers.
