Old School
Where can we rent an old school / vintage yellow cab to the wedding of the NY / NJ area?
We will get married in the spring of 09 and would simply love our means of transportation to be an old school bus! We have not had the best chance to find a source if you please help!
I found this: It http://www.checkertaxistand.com seems to be a site for owners of old Checker Cabs all epochs. There is a link location, but there were only three, and they do not seem to lead nowhere more. The site still seems worth checking out because it could lead you in the right direction. I post on the forum - there is a section for non-members. There is also a place to communicate with them - they are in VA. You could Simply ask if they know someone who rents that they own or if they know where the rent. Obviously, they exist because the films always use them as if they still exist in your luggage. This is truly the best I could find. You think it would be easier to find especially in the NYC / NJ area not you? Good luck. I hope you get to find one. They are the best. When I was a kid, there were still a handful to about New York, and we found ourselves in one. Best Ride ever larger - small jump seats in back and all!
