Ring Speaker
How would you make a speaker that blew smoke rings?
If you completely covered and sealed the front of a Bass Speaker cone, then cut a small diameter hole in the center of the cover (maybe an inch or so), then filled the inside of the speaker cone with smoke, then applied a step voltage to the speaker, forcing the cone forwards, that should do the trick.
