Sound Deadener
what are the most important areas to put dynamat/fatmat sound deadener?
I dont want to go all out with it since its an old truck, i just want to get the most important areas covered to stop as much sound and rattle as possible. I know its not going to be a miracle cure or anything, but the sound insulation in my truck is bad/deteriorated away, and i have a nice sound system i put in last year. I want to block off as much road noise and vibration as possible, and keep the bass in the truck
its a full size blazer.
If you are trying to keep the bass inside I would start on the sheet metal in the back, if you want to cut down on road noise pull up the carpet and put it on the floor, if you want your speakers to sound better pull off the inner panel and put it on the inside of the sheet metal to the outer door. If you go with Dynamat it will be expensive, if you look on ebay for other sound deadeners it won't be as expensive but might not work as well. The only experience i have is I put some dynamat extreme on the inside of my outer door panel. I was impressed with how well it worked. good luck.
