Supercab Custom
Pulling truck construction.?
Im going to make a pulling truck.
Im going to start with a 7.3 powerstroke and work around that.
I've heard the easyiest truck to start with is a supercab long bed.
So i think im going to get a 2008 and pull the gas job out of there and drop the 7.3 in and put in head studs, a new HPOP, Twin turbos, INJECTORS, a hood 8 inch stack and a 3 inch stack for the turbos. Custom tuning, and stage 4 transmission, Heavy Duty crank shafts, to danna 70s with 5.13 gears, new tires and rims, Fat air intake, nitrous, and propane injector. Upgrade fuel pump, and heavy duty lines and remove all of all fuel and oil filters. Im obviously going to prefilter the fuel before it goes into the tank and all new oil. Custom cam, upgraded forged pistons and crank. Anything else?? im missing?
The reason i started with a gas motor is because its cheaper to buy and the newer trucks have better frames and suspensions so it was a better truck to start with.
x2....start out with a factory diesel. Adrenaline or terminator HPOP to be specific. Also need gauges. I would also upgrade the manifolds....BIG AIR. Custom tuning from Jody at DP tuner or Tony Wildman at totaldieselperformance.com. I've heard gear head and swamps is good too.
Now you just need about $30k to do all of that.

Edit: The way you have this truck built (on paper) is not a street legal truck.....if I understoof you right that you are taking the exhaust, out of the turbo, straight up through the hood. So I imagine you will be only using it on a track pulling/drag. A lasting suspension is no key factor in either one. Besides, my dad has a 96 F250 7.3 with 640,000 miles and has maxed out the leaf springs several times. Still has the factory leaf springs....could probably use some new shocks but it still rides and feels just like the day he got it with 25k on it. I
But its your truck, so for sure do it the way you want. I'm just giving what I have experienced. I undertand your point now of why you would buy the gas 08, but I would go with a 96-02 7.3 in my opinion. Even the OBS trucks look stought....might even save you another $20k-$30k. The way you got it built, it's going to be bad ass no matter what kind of chasis you got it in. The way it's built is similar to the way a pull truck called Double Overtime is built (you can see vids of it on youtube). The guy has gone through 3 engine blocks so far.
