Amp Sub
How do I wire my dvc 1 ohms sub to run at 2 ohms off my amp?
This is my current connection with 1 channel Pioneer amp:
Right terminal on sub: + speaker wire to + terminal on amp
Left terminal on sub: - speaker wire to - terminal on amp
Right terminal - to Left terminal + on sub
Amp is one channel.
I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly because for some reason (could be bad equipment), my Hifonics amp won't push my sub, but my Pioneer will.
Also, fuses are NOT blown, amp is NOT in protect, and the blue power light DOES turn on. Bad internals?
Thanks to Sparky and anyone else who might answer this.

Each coil is 1 ohm, right?

...and WTF is with the first guy, CRACK KILLS!!!!!!!!
Obviously you know nothing of Car Audio. I know this because he stated he had a DVC (dual Voice Coil) so adding a 1 ohm resistor would not come out to be 2 ohm, but more like 3 if all were wired in series.
Even if it were a SVC, the resistor would cost more than another subwoofer (which would be the smart thing to do), would reduce the overall performance by half as half of the signal would be lost in the resistor and would get extremely hot from dissipating that much power.
A "impedance matching block" is a matching transformer. Finding one that could handle the power his amp puts out, would cost over $500, again a sub would be cheaper.
Never ever suggest a resistor in car audio. If you don't know, don't answer.
