Car Amplifier
How can I use my car amplifier in my house?
I want to hook up my car amplifier in my house for a more powerful custom made surround sound system. Think I could just use a battery and recharge it once in a while or does anyone know of anyone that makes a power inverter that can handle up to 300 amps? I was thinking of hooking up 2 amps, 1 4000 watt one for the subs and one 2400 watt one for the numerous amounts of mid and high range speakers. Has anyone tried this before or had this idea?
the 1st problem you have is that car amps put out 4 omhs and home stuff is 8 ohms so you can hurt you stuff
the 2nd problem is having a car battery sitting in you house, if that is OK with people around you go for it
and Radio Shack sells lots of power inverters of all differnt power,
good luck with it, I do know people who have done it, you can, just watch the heat put out and make sure everthing is cool
