Coil Subwoofer

what does it mean when a subwoofer has dual Voice Coil?

does it mean that if the sub is 1000 Watts Rms , then we have to give 1000 watts to each coil , which will end at 2000 total? or does it mean 500 to each coil or does it mean something else? (the sub has 4 inputs , 2 red and 2 black)
if i have a 2 channel amp that gives 2000 watts rms at bridged mode , then how do i connect it to a dual voice coil subwoofer? (dont mind the ohm)

The wattage given for any speaker will be cumulative. If it is stated to take 1000rms, that's 1000w total.

You HAVE to be mindful of the total impedance; as there are two different ways to wire it up, and the impedance is the biggest difference amongst the two configurations.
