Colorado Single
I run a single owner LLC in Colorado and have decided to run a dba...?
to run a DBA under it. The DBA has a different name of course and it does a different thing. The DBA is simply a trade name. Now since its parent company is a LLC does the DBA company have liabily protection of any kind or is it completly wide open pass through like a sole proprietor? in the past I have filed a schedule C and use an IEN number instead of social security.
DBA is just another name. The liability is a "passthru", so the LLC takes the hit.
However, it depends on your vulnerability. If someone sue you, are they likely to sue the company, or sue the officer himself? (or even, both?)
Also, does your state recognize LLC as an entity? Not all states do.
