what type of amp do i need to power my subwoofers?

I have 2 Alpine Type R 12" 4-ohm daul Voice Coil woofers 500w rms each 1000w max each. i want to power them with a 1000w Watt Amp but how many channel amp do i need and specs like that? i want them to run 500w each so any suggestions?

I have the same subs...and I have a MTX JH1200 runnin 1200 RMS at 1 ohm..its an awesome amp for only 250..

Also you could go with the fosgate p1000bd or the JL 1000.1
